| Paul's Disc Golf Tips |
Take your time and try not to rush your shots. It's a common mistake and very simple to correct: just take a little more time to set up your shots, and create a routine to help yourself slow down.
The same thinking goes with your run up. I see a lot of people running up as fast as they can to try to get more distance from their throw. This actually results in less control. Slow down and take your time. Smooth is far.
A lot of players have been asking me how to consistently make long putts after seeing me in the long putting video. If you want to hit the long ones, I suggest you spend more time practicing your short putts. Get consistent at the shorter putts (33 feet and in), and the longer ones will become easier.
A putting trick that I use: I visualize a line that connects from my hand to the basket whether it be over a tree or an open lie, then I visualize the disc going in the basket. Then I do my best to hit, or throw the disc on that line.

COURSES YOU SHOULD PLAY: |

Winning the 2006 Am Worlds in Tulsa put Paul Ulibarri solidly onto the disc golf radar screen. That same year he turned pro and had a strong 22nd place finish at the Players Cup, where he faced the best players and most pressure of his young career. |

Z Flick (various)
|
This is my favorite disc. I use a 150 class for all my side arm shots, and for all my shorter hyzer skip shots. A max weight copy is my go to disc on windy days. It is the most predictable disc in my bag, and is great for long hyzers and sidearms.
|
ESP Surge (max weight) |
I carry two: a max weight version for longer hyzer shots. Its a very good wind disc. I also use it for tomahawks. A lighter one for long turnovers, rollers, and long distance shots.
|
Z Predator (max weight) |
Great wind disc, I like that I can trust it in any situation. Also its great for big flex shots and long hyzers.
|
D XS (max weight) |
I use this disc for all my short and long roller shots. Great roller.

I use this disc for turnover shots that my sidearm can't get to. I also use it for windy shots that my putter can't get to. Its a great wind disc.

D Challenger (172 - 174) |
The putter I use for long up shots and drives on shorter holes. Its great in the wind, and good for short side arm turnover up shots.
|
Z Magnet (175 gm) |
The Z Magnet is a limited edition disc, but you can find them if you look around. I think it's the best putter ever made. I use it for all putts from 130 feet and in. Its great for turnover and straight putts. It holds its line better then any other putter I've ever thrown.
