  • MEMORABLE DISC GOLF MOMENTs
As I started to play disc golf in Colorado, I was always impressed with both Kathy Hardyman and Peggy Berry who have each won World Championships. I thought that someday I could compete with them. I can remember beating Kathy for the first time at the Grand Valley Open in Palisade, Colorado and Peggy for the first time in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I was so excited to actually win against two ladies I have looked up to for a long time. Another highlight of my tournament career so far has to be my win against Des Reading at the 2011 High Plains Challenge A tier. I have always thought of Des as one of the top women in the world. I will never forget the three rounds we played together in this event. Finally, I will always remember the final 9 at the 2010 Am Worlds where Liz Lopez caddied for me and Eric McCabe and Paige Pierce walked with us as I won the Under 16 Girls Amateur World Championship.
    Big Shot
On her way to a 13 stroke Open win, Paige hits a monster deuce from 150 feet out at the Rocky Mountain Women's Disc Golf Championships.

    Paige's Disc Golf Tips
I see a bunch of new players using heavy overstable drivers as their "go to" discs. I think everyone should start playing disc golf with a putter and a midrange disc.

I added a ton of distance when I stopped throwing all hyzers with the nose up. Keep your drivers flat and learn how to throw anhyzers and S shots.

I think one of the best things a player can do to improve their game is to learn how to throw a putter off of the tee box for shorter holes. I learned this valuable lesson from a friend of mine named Joel. Joel was absolutely right. Once you learn how to control your putter - the rest gets easier.
    COURSES YOU SHOULD PLAY:

    Course Comments
    Pioneer Park DGC
    Sterling, CO
This course is one of the best kept secrets in Colorado disc golf. The front nine is in a beautiful park setting while the back nine includes several tunnel shots and tight lines.
    Rosedale (Down Under)
    Kansas City, KS
This was the first course I played at the 2009 Am Worlds. The course has tons of tight shots that reward accuracy.
    Pueblo City Park
    Pueblo, CO
This course has beautiful huge trees that line the fairways making for some great shots. You can't help but hear the monkeys howling from the zoo right next to hole 2!
    Frontier Park
    Hays, KS
I love the variety of holes at this great park. There are both short and technical holes and long and open holes. You need to use lots of different shots to get around this course.
    Johnny Roberts DGC
    Arvada, CO
I learned a bunch of shots playing this short technical course. Hole 17 at Johnny is one of my favorite holes in disc golf.

    Disc Comments
    D Nuke
    (150 class)
This is my max distance driver. If I get this one going right it goes forever!
    Z Nuke
    (165-169 g)
This disc has a nice "S" curve and I can always count on it coming back!
    ESP Surge
    (165-169 g)
When I throw the Surge just right, it travels on a great S line - giving me maximum distance.
    Z Force
    (165-169 g)
This is a great overstable driver that is very dependable.
    Z Crush
    (165-169 g)
Another stable, dependable driver that I love to "crush"!
    ESP and Z Stalker
    (165-169 g)
The Stalker is great for fairway shots that are a bit longer than what I would normally throw my Buzzz on. It really holds its line.
In The Disc Golf Bag: Midrange
    Disc Comments
    Z Buzzz
    (175+ g)
This is my favorite all-time disc. If I only could play with one disc, this would be it. It follows the line I start it on. If it is a bad shot, it is me and not the Buzzz!
    Z Drone
    (175+ g)
Drone is great for shots into a strong headwind or when a definite hyzer line is needed.
    Z Comet
    (170-175 g)
I use this disc for turnover approach shots. It holds a great anhyzer line for me.

    Disc Comments
    Pro D Challenger
    (174 g)
I use this for most upshots 150 feet and in. It definitely holds the line I start it on. I have a pink one with a Frontier Open stamp on it that I have had for almost two years. It has saved my bacon several times!
